Disclaimer
The figures on FormCost are estimates, not legal or tax advice. The LLC fee data, comparisons and calculators on this site are provided for general informational and educational purposes only. Why the numbers are estimates
State LLC fees change, and our figures are the most recent published amounts we could compile and cross-check as of 2026-06-14 (2026). A state may have changed a fee, report frequency or rule since then. We track the standard state fees only (the filing fee plus the recurring report or franchise fee); we exclude registered-agent fees, EIN and document services, expedite fees, and most income, sales and franchise/excise taxes. Your actual cost to form and run an LLC will differ — sometimes substantially.
Verify with the authoritative source
Before relying on any figure, confirm it with the official source:
- State LLC filing and annual fees: your state's Secretary of State or equivalent business filing agency (linked on every state page).
- Federal tax classification of an LLC or S-corp election: the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
For decisions about forming an entity, choosing a state, or making a tax election, consult a qualified attorney, CPA or enrolled agent.
No warranty
While we source data from state agencies and reputable consolidated tables and use standard formulas, figures may be out of date, incomplete or contain errors. FormCost makes no warranty as to accuracy or completeness and accepts no responsibility for any loss arising from reliance on the site or its calculators.
